“Happy Days by the Sea”

Spacious & Gracious is a site about living and being in Folkestone, inspired, in part, by a time when Folkestone could promote itself confidently and unapologetically to the world as an enchanting holiday destination, and in part by our optimistic belief in its cultural and creative future.

The team at S & G, have an art and design background, so a certain art and design bias is likely, but we aim to cover a broad area of interests, and to focus on the positive, to share news, views, ideas and playfulness.

In our Music and Art sections, we want, not only to inform about up-coming events, but to feature reviews and critical analysis, something we believe to be lacking, currently. Contributions and interaction are positively encouraged.

In our news section, we hope to be informative of significant and amusing events. Contributions encouraged.

In the Features section, we will be able to include articles about any aspect of Folkestone, its history, topography, and local characters and personalities.

In the FOWSC section, you will not only be able to follow the gripping antics of the Folkestone Open Water Swimming Club, by means of our ongoing photo-archive, but will hopefully be inspired to join us in regular frolics in Folkestone’s waves.

We expect to sometimes be irreverent, and hopefully to be amusing and entertaining.
