Currently in situ on the rocks looking out over Sunny Sands beach but covered up by it’s wooden protective housing*, Cornelia Parker’s ‘The Folkestone Mermaid’ is silently waiting for her reveal on the the Folkestone Triennial 2011 Launch Day this coming Saturday 25th of June.
*The housing has now been removed, please see this article for some photos taken on site.

With Triennial 2011 pieces recently popping up all over town and then quickly getting hidden for the big reveal on the 25th June, it was good to have spotted a piece which they would struggle to cover up due to it’s shear size.
